A promotional flyer was needed for a Collage workshop at Syddansk Erhvervsakademi. The primary goal was to invite all students by explicitly showing that the workshop is a hands-on, creative experience. To make the event inclusive and approachable, it was essential to use an abstract collage example, demonstrating a simple and non-intimidating method. Beyond teaching a skill, the flyer needed to communicate that this is a space to connect both with your own creativity and with fellow students.
Context
The primary goal was to demystify art by demonstrating that anyone can create with their hands. To achieve this, it was essential to feature an abstract collage example on the flyer. This approach ensured a welcoming invitation to all students, regardless of their artistic background. The final design needed to be energetic and engaging, successfully communicating all key event details, including the date, time, location, and a sign-up QR code.
Objective
I created a central graphic element composed of layered, hand-cut organic shapes with distinct textures. I contrasted a clean, modern sans-serif font for the body text with a headline "COLLAGE" made of mixed-media, cut-out-style letters, mimicking the very act of cutting and pasting to ensure instant topic recognition.
